Copyright Notice

All photographs on sungmatt.com were taken by Matthew Sung and are protected by applicable copyright laws and international treaties. This applies to every image, whether or not it has a watermark or a copyright notice on it.

Permitted personal use

You may use my photographs without asking, as long as the use is personal and non-commercial and you follow these conditions:

Social media sharing. You may repost an image on social media if you credit me clearly and link back to sungmatt.com. The image must not be altered, cropped, or filtered in a way that removes or hides the credit.
Personal wallpaper. You may use an image as a desktop or phone background on your own devices.

These permissions do not transfer to anyone else and I may withdraw them at any time. They do not let you redistribute, sell, or make derivative works from my images.

Prohibited without written permission

Unless I have given you written permission, you may not:

Reproduce, download for redistribution, publish, or sell any photograph
Use any photograph for commercial purposes, including advertising, marketing, merchandise, products, or paid media
Modify, edit, or create derivative works from any photograph
Remove, alter, or obscure watermarks, copyright notices, or embedded metadata (EXIF/IPTC), including author, copyright, and contact information
Use any photograph, or data taken from one, to train, fine-tune, test, or improve artificial intelligence or machine-learning systems
Collect images from this site with scrapers, crawlers, bots, or other automated tools

Images on other platforms

Photographs I post on Instagram or any other platform stay under this notice. Posting an image publicly elsewhere does not waive my copyright and does not grant any permissions beyond those listed here.

Licensing

To license an image for commercial, editorial, or any other use, contact photos@sungmatt.com and include the image, how you plan to use it, and how long you need it.

If you appear in a photo

If you appear in one of my photographs and would like it taken down, email photos@sungmatt.com with a link to the image. I'll review and respond to every request promptly.

Unauthorized use

If I find my work used without permission, I may send a takedown notice, invoice you at my standard licensing rate (the fee may be increased for uncredited or commercial use), or take legal action under applicable copyright law.
